Kenwood lies west of downtown St. Petersburg and is on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. It boasts the largest collection of American bungalow architecture in Florida. Its brick streets are lined with classic craftsman-style homes with large front porches. Monthly porch parties are a staple as well as guided walking tours given by St. Petersburg Preservation. This is a house-proud neighborhood of enthusiastic fixer-uppers of all ages who gladly share information and sources about restoration. The first weekend of November, the neighborhood hosts BungalowFest, a two-day tour of homes and gardens that celebrates the area’s architectural richness. It’s a diverse neighborhood with a hard-working and effective neighborhood association.
